He’s been great, and recently, he accomplished a very impressive feat that deserves plenty of praise.As Matt Gelb of The Athletic highlighted, Stott has become the first player since Barry Bonds to walk at least 14 times in an 11-game stretch with no walks. And Stott’s feat is, arguably, even more impressive than what Bonds did.Bryson Stott joins Barry Bonds in wild MLB history”Stott is the first player with at least 13 walks and no strikeouts over an 11-game span since Barry Bonds in September 2002,” Gelb writes. “And Bonds’ streak included a bunch of intentional walks. The only other player with an 11-game stretch like this in the last 30 years was the Detroit Tigers’ Bobby Higginson in 2001.”This is some wild history for Stott to set. While he’s not the only one to accomplish this feat, no other player in MLB history has done this since 2002, when Bonds last did it.Even during Bonds’ legendary 2004 season, he didn’t accomplish this feat. Stott is joining some rare company with this stretch, as the Phillies’ new third baseman has not struck out in 11 games.Stott’s last strikeout occurred on July 28, when he struck out twice against the Miami Marlins. Since then, he’s either walked or put the ball in play. He’s a good defender, is an elite baserunner, and has been a quality hitter as well.
