​Brad Myers joins Brandon Holveck on the latest episode of DE Gameday, Delaware Online/The News Journal’s weekly high school sports show, to provide an early-season check-in on the Delaware high school football season.Myers and Holveck draft the schools most likely to win a football state championship across Delaware’s three classifications.The unanimous top pick in the draft is only in its second season of varsity football, Newark Charter. The Patriots are 4-0 with wins over Odessa (ranked fifth in Class 2A) and Newark (ranked third in Class 1A). Newark Charter lost in overtime in the Class 1A title game to Seaford last year.”They appear to be even better this year,” Myers said.”I was really impressed by the defense in particular in that game against Odessa,” Holveck said. “Odessa was behind the sticks more often than not.”Catch the full episode in the video player at the top of this story.
