​In the competition for most creative schedule release videos, the Nashville Predators have a strong entry.On July 16, to promote the release of the 2026-27 schedule, the Predators posted a three-minute video lampooning several television shows, including the one that mocked them last season, Saturday Night Live.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe video is presented as a channel-flipping simulation, with the first spot being a recreation of the now infamous “Predators in your community” sketch from a November episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.In the original sketch, players from three teams are shooting a promo for the NHL’s charity work in the community. The Predators representative, played by host Miles Teller, leads by saying “I’m a Predator in my community. When you see this face, just know that a Predator is in the community,” mocking the potential double-meaning of the word.In the Predators’ recreation posted today, a video director states there’s a “new batch of lines” that “nobody could possibly take offense to.” The Predators player then says “Kids love nothing more than seeing Pre-” before he stops short and walks off the set.Other spots in the video include:AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementA cooking show which features a “deconstructed Chicago-style hot dog” to promote home games against the Blackhawks on Dec. 3 and April 1.A home re-location show featuring “The Star Family” to promote games against Dallas on Oct. 3 and April 10.A “Storage Wars” style mockumentary which shows a man disappointed in a “Vegas Golden Knights 2026 Stanley Cup Champion” shirt to promote games against Vegas on Oct. 13 and Jan. 26.The video also features mock advertising, including a Luke Evangelista promotion in which the Predators’ winger is selling a fragrance called “Vange by Vange.”The full video is featured on all Predators’ social media accounts, including X, Instagram, and Facebook.The NHL released the full 2026-27 schedule on July 16.
