Predicting Alabama’s most productive player at every position in 2026

By admin — In News — July 10, 2026

The 2026 season will see the Alabama Crimson Tide stepping onto the field with a new wave of talent across both sides of the ball. The program parted ways with several contributors this offseason, sending players to the transfer portal and into the NFL draft. Yet despite these losses, Alabama appears to possess a compelling blend of youth and experience that could quickly elevate the Tide into the upper echelon of college football once again.
Looking ahead, a number of Crimson Tide playmakers could emerge as X-factors in 2026, and a breakdown of the most productive player at each position this season is outlined below. In Tuscaloosa on November 22, 2025, the Tide hosted Eastern Illinois at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, where quarterback Keelon Russell, wearing No. 12, carried for a first-half gain. Russell, a highly talented signal-caller, could ascend to a stardom within the program if he wins the job over fellow quarterback Austin Mack. The sophomore was ranked No. 2 in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite, and he flashed elite potential in 2025 despite limited playing time in two games. If he takes the reins this season, Russell could become the Crimson Tide’s primary passer and a centerpiece of the offense in Tuscaloosa.
Over at running back, Daniel Hill has begun to show his potential after two seasons with limited impact. Hill has accumulated 345 rushing yards and seven touchdowns across his Alabama career, and his role is expected to expand significantly as Jam Miller departs. With more opportunities and a larger workload, Hill could lift the Tide’s ground attack to a higher level in 2026 and establish himself as a key contributor on offense.
At wide receiver, Lotzeir Brooks demonstrated promise during his freshman year in 2025. Brooks recorded 441 receiving yards and two touchdowns, contributing notably in Alabama’s CFP-clinching victory over Oklahoma. He is positioned to start the season as Alabama’s No. 2 receiver behind Ryan Coleman-Williams, yet his early production suggests he has the potential to climb the depth chart quickly as the year unfolds and become a central playmaker in the passing game.
As Alabama plots its path into 2026, the program’s blend of emerging talent and seasoned veterans could translate into immediate impact across multiple positions. The coaching staff’s development plan, the progression of Russell at quarterback, Hill’s expansion of the backfield workload, and Brooks’s continued growth as a receiver will all be critical factors in determining how quickly the Tide can ascend to the top tier of college football this season.
