After loaning Renato Marin to CD Nacional on Monday, PSG formally announced Gabriel Moscardo’s loan move to Espanyol on Wednesday. The arrangement had been anticipated since last week, and Moscardo, a 20-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder, is now officially on a loan to Espanyol without a purchase option. PSG signed him from Corinthians in January 2024 for €20 million plus €2 million in bonuses, and he was immediately loaned back to Corinthians for six months before spending the 2024-25 season on loan at Reims. There, his playing time was hampered by several injuries, limiting him to just 256 minutes.
Moscardo has rarely been used by Luka Elsner and Samba Diawara when available. He returned to Paris last summer and was part of PSG’s FIFA Club World Cup squad, though he did not feature in any match. He was eventually loaned to Braga, PSG’s partner club, on July 19, 2025, where he accumulated 1,527 minutes during the 2025-26 season, including multiple appearances as a center back in a back three.
According to ESPN, Moscardo drew interest from Getafe and Real Valladolid in Spain, as well as Monza in Italy and Cologne in Germany. Nevertheless, in agreement with PSG, he opted for Espanyol. A return loan to Brazil was discussed at one point but neither the player nor PSG considered it part of their plans.
Espanyol finished 11th in La Liga last season and typically adopts a 4-2-3-1 formation. Moscardo will compete for midfield playing time with Urko González de Zárate, the 25-year-old Basque defensive midfielder developed by Real Sociedad; Edu Expósito, 29; and Pol Lozano, 26. Since May, Espanyol’s sporting CEO has been Monchi, the former Sevilla sporting director who had been repeatedly linked with PSG in recent years.
On another front, Randal Kolo Muani remains a hot topic in the transfer market. In addition to reported interest from Tottenham and Juventus, he is attracting attention from two other Premier League clubs and a prominent German club. Despite a disappointing 2025-26 season at Tottenham, where he netted only five goals in 41 appearances, Muani continues to be highly valued in transfer discussions. L’Equipe and La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Tottenham still harbors interest in retaining him for next season, though the exact structure of a potential deal remains unsettled. Le Parisien adds that Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and a major German club are monitoring the situation as well, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and this undisclosed German club considered potential destinations. There is a recurring sense that PSG and Juventus remain apart on Muani’s €40 million valuation, while other clubs keep a close watch on the situation.
Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and a German club are closely monitoring PSG’s striker Randal Kolo Muani as his transfer prospects continue to develop. With competing bids and interest from multiple leagues, Muani’s next move appears contingent on whether a suitable buy option or loan structure can be agreed upon. As PSG navigates its own strategic plans, Muani’s market remains active, inviting continued speculation and negotiation ahead of the next transfer window.
