PSG pursue Barcelona’s Ferran Torres to anticipate Bradley Barcola’s exit

PSG is reportedly pressing ahead with a potential move for FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres (26), according to L’Equipe, while Sky Sports indicates that the Spaniard has reached a preliminary agreement with the back-to-back Champions League winners. PSG has been swift in shaping its summer transfer plans, especially in attacking positions. Gonçalo Ramos has been sold to AC Milan, and Lee Kang-in is expected to join Atlético de Madrid. Randal Kolo Muani has also been shown the door. To mitigate those departures, Les Parisiens have secured verbal agreements with Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche and Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé, though no formal signings have been completed yet.
In their bid to be prepared for any contingency, PSG are weighing the possibility of signing Torres. The Barcelona forward is said to be highly regarded by former Barça manager Luis Enrique and by PSG’s sporting leadership. With Torres approaching the final months of his contract at Barcelona, it would be prudent for the Catalan club to consider a transfer if an agreement can be reached.
L’Equipe notes that any move for Torres would depend on the departure of a senior forward, most likely Bradley Barcola. Barcola has been a peripheral figure in PSG’s recent Champions League campaigns, where Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been a key asset on the left wing. Barcola’s future remains uncertain, and contract renewal talks are paused while he remains involved with France’s World Cup campaign. Interest in Barcola has come from several top clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich, with his market value reportedly set at around €150 million.
As PSG weighs its options, the prospect of Torres arriving would hinge on who leaves first, given the squad’s current depth and the club’s strategic priorities for the upcoming season. The transfer window activity reflects PSG’s intention to reinforce the forward line, while also keeping an eye on potential outgoings that could free up wages or space in the squad. The situation remains fluid, with negotiations and official announcements still to come as the club tries to balance ambition with financial and sporting realities.
