PSG Value Winger at Over €40M Amid Man City, Aston Villa Interest

After competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Senegal, Ibrahim Mbaye is currently on vacation and could leave Paris Saint-Germain before the summer transfer window closes. PSG, however, has no intention of selling him cheaply and values him at more than €40 million, a price that is unlikely to deter Premier League clubs showing strong interest in his profile.
Despite not fully cementing his place in PSG’s first team during the 2025-26 season, the 18-year-old Mbaye still made 31 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. More importantly, the Trappes native chose to represent Senegal internationally, which allowed him to become a full international and participate in the Africa Cup of Nations last winter and the FIFA World Cup this summer. The decision has paid off, as the Lions of Teranga lifted AFCON glory, although CAF later ruled otherwise, and Mbaye contributed to a commendable World Cup campaign before Senegal were eliminated by Belgium in the Round of 16 after leading 2-0. Notably, Mbaye scored against France in the opening match after coming on as a substitute, becoming the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history. He has already tallied four goals and five assists in 15 senior international appearances.
All of this makes for an impressive international résumé for an 18-year-old who has yet to consistently realize his potential at his boyhood club. Competition on the wings at PSG is intense, and a departure during the summer window remains a possibility. This week, Foot Mercato reported that Mbaye is no longer concealing his desire to move on, even as those close to him try to persuade him to stay. At the same time, L’Equipe indicated that Mbaye has been working with an English agency for several months, and that the Premier League is his preferred destination if he departs. The French-Senegalese winger has been linked with Aston Villa for months, and L’Equipe also mentioned Manchester City in April, even alleging Mbaye had visited the club’s training facilities—an assertion his entourage denied. Meanwhile, Foot Mercato also notes interest from Tottenham.
Regarding Mbaye’s valuation, with his contract running through 2028, L’Equipe reports that PSG internally values him between €40 million and €50 million. With multiple English clubs potentially in the hunt, PSG could even hope the final fee surpasses that range. A transfer for Mbaye could exceed the deal that sent Lee Kang-in to Atlético Madrid, which was valued at just over €40 million (including bonuses, according to RMC Sport; excluding bonuses, according to L’Equipe).
Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and a German club are monitoring PSG’s striker, alongside ongoing interest from Juventus. PSG and Juventus remain apart on Randal Kolo Muani’s €40 million valuation, while Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and another German side keep a close watch on Mbaye’s situation. As the market moves, Mbaye’s future at PSG remains uncertain, with a potential exit on the horizon should a club meet or exceed his asking price. If he leaves, it would mark a significant step in a still-rapid rise for a teenager who has already left a strong international stamp on the game.
