​BEREA ― It would be easy for Quinshon Judkins to get frustrated.A central component of Browns coach Todd Monken’s past offenses has been the ability to run the football. That left most expecting the second-year running back to become a big part of any success the Browns offense had in 2026.But Judkins and the Browns have been unable to generate anything close to a consistent running game through two games. The former Ohio State standout, however, is focusing his attention on those last three words: “Through two games.”Subscribe to Browns Insider newsletter”As far as the run game, I think it’s just all of our first time being together and just trying to figure out, just getting on the same page and just correcting the issues this far throughout our first two games,” Judkins said this week. “It’s really earlier on through the year, so I don’t get discouraged by it and just continue to put my best foot forward.”The Browns have averaged 65.5 yards rushing through two games, which ranks 31st in the league. Only the Green Bay Packers, whose star running back, Josh Jacobs, is on the commissioner’s exempt list, have struggled more, with 64.5 yards per game.Those numbers could be even worse if not for what quarterback Deshaun Watson has provided in the run game. Watson has 13 of the Browns’ 45 rushing attempts, and his 60 rushing yards are nearly half of the team’s 131 yards.Judkins has received virtually all of the other rushing attempts, with 24 for just 54 yards. Three other players ― wide receiver KC Concepcion, running back Raheim “Rocket” Sanders and running back Jaleel McLaughlin ― have combined for eight attempts and 17 yards, with Concepcion leading the way with four carries and nine yards.“It’s usually pretty simple,” Monken said Sept. 23. “We can scheme it better and we can execute better, and that’s just the way it is. We could call it better. It’s all the above. When you’re not running it to a certain standard, then you got to scheme it better, got to coach it better, got to execute it better. “… It’s not sustainable to not be able to run the football, it’s absolutely not sustainable. But I do think in order to be elite on offense, you’re going to need to be able to run it when you need to run it, which at times we did, sometimes we didn’t.”There’s certainly something to be said about the two opponents the Browns opened with contributing to those struggles. Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buccaneers came into the season having been among the best in 2025 against the run, with the Jaguars ranking No. 1 and Tampa Bay fourth.The Jaguars are 13th per game (95.5 yards) and 10th per play (3.82) against the run through two games. Tampa Bay’s defense has been even better, ranking fourth in both per game (75.0) and (3.0) per play.Judkins, though, said it’s a chicken-or-the-egg kind of relationship. He’s pointing inward instead of outward when assessing where the culpability falls.”I think as far as defenses that we face, i
