Quinten Post signs with Grizzlies after Warriors refuse to match offer

By admin — In News — July 8, 2026

The Memphis Grizzlies have officially added center Quinten Post through free agency, his representation Priority Sports announced on July 7. Memphis reportedly agreed to a three-year, $30 million offer sheet with Post on July 6, and Golden State had until 10:59 p.m. Central Time on July 7 to decide whether to match the offer or let Post depart. Post, a 7-foot, 238-pound center, spent his first two NBA seasons with the Golden State Warriors after being selected 52nd overall in the 2024 draft. In his time with the Warriors, he has appeared in 109 games, started 49 of them, and averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game.
The Grizzlies are expected to deploy a new look alongside Zach Edey, whose rugged rim protections have been a staple for the team. While Post isn’t the same level of rebounder or shot-blocker as Edey, he has carved out an early reputation as a capable floor spacer, which should help Memphis diversify its interior threats. Through two seasons in the league, Post has shot 36.4 percent from three-point range, averaging 1.5 attempts per game. Notably, he has converted more three-pointers (166) than shots from inside the arc (150) in his career, highlighting his outside shooting ability that could complement the Grizzlies’ offense.
Memphis continues to pursue additional frontcourt depth, with the expectation that former Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart could be added once a pending trade is finalized. The trio of Edey, Stewart, and Post would give the Grizzlies three distinct center profiles, adding versatility and depth behind the club’s other bigs, including No. 3 overall pick Cam Boozer and reigning first-team All-Rookie selection Cedric Coward.
