Bowers returned to practice Friday after missing the previous two sessions while recovering from a knee injury, providing some optimism that the star tight end could make his season debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.#Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) returns to practice. pic.twitter.com/UUpRweFE3E— Ryan McFadden (@ryanmcfadden_) September 18, 2026Watch sports LIVE with fuboTV (free trial)His participation level and official game designation will provide a much clearer picture of his availability.Bowers underwent a meniscus trim shortly before the beginning of the regular season and missed Las Vegas’ 27-13 Week 1 victory over the Miami Dolphins. The Raiders have remained optimistic about a relatively quick return, with head coach Klint Kubiak describing Bowers as “day-to-day” earlier this week. Now there’s finally tangible progress. Las Vegas managed without him against Miami, but having Bowers available would provide an enormous boost for a much different challenge against the Chargers.Los Angeles was embarrassed in a 26-14 loss to Arizona in Week 1, but the Chargers entered the season with playoff expectations and have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball.Bowers gives the Raiders a matchup nightmare who can completely change their passing attack. The two-time Pro Bowler has already established himself as one of the NFL’s premier tight ends and would provide Las Vegas with another dynamic option alongside Ashton Jeanty and its other offensive weapons.Friday’s official injury report will determine just how realistic Bowers’ chances are. For now, however, his return to practice is exactly the development Raiders fans wanted to see. Stay tuned for more updates on one of the best players in the game.Related: Raiders’ Brock Bowers still not practicing ahead of Week 2 after knee surgeryRelated: Vegas can change any man – just like Raiders’ Fernando Mendoza in hilarious new State Farm ad
