The Rams dominated the Raiders for stretches of this contest, but there were real mistakes made by L.A. as the final score doesn’t tell the whole story. Self-inflicted wounds like poor special teams play, turnovers, penalties and an inability to put games away have been the story of the Rams in 2026 more often than not, and each of those negative trends showed up in Week 7, but unlike the last couple weeks, the Rams found a way to win. Credit the Raiders for hanging around, playing tough and fighting despite being down throughout the match, but the Rams gave the Raiders chances because the Rams made mistakes. The Rams jumped out to a hot start and took a 28-6 lead into halftime with Stafford throwing three passing touchdowns, and Kyren Williams adding another score on the ground. The Rams set themselves up to take control with a dominant first half, but the second half was a bit shaky as the Rams struggled greatly in the third quarter and parts of the fourth. The mistakesThe Raiders converted a fake punt in the third quarter to keep a drive alive as the Rams continue to be out-played in the third pase of the game. L.A.’s defense held strong. L.A.’s defense contined to hold strong after the fumble and forced the Raiders to a turnover on downs. On the Rams next offensive drive, Blake Corum was given some carries after the Williams fumble, and Corum was able to take a run to the house, but it was called back due to a facemask penalty on L.A. The Rams were forced to punt a few plays later. In the fourth quarter, Stafford threw an interception when Colby Parkinson popped the intended pass in the air as the Rams continued to get in their own way. The Rams did enough, they won, but it was closer than it needed to be as this Rams team continues to be far less dominant than expected going into 2026.
