The Rangers are bringing some familiar faces back to the organization. According to reports from Vince Mercogliano of the Athletic and Mollie Walker of the NY Post, Derick Brassard and Jonathan Quick are joining NY’s player development staff. As per Mercogliano, Brassard will be a player development assistant. According to Walker, Quick will serve as the director of goaltending development. Both of them will report to another retired former Ranger, Tanner Glass, who was promoted to the director of player development earlier this offseason. The CT-native Quick spent the final three seasons of his prestigious NHL career back home with the Blueshirts before deciding to hang up the pads at the end of this year.He was loved by all around the organization both on and off the ice. Brassard came to the Big Apple as part of the Marian Gaborik deal back in 2013, and he ended up spending the next four seasons skating for the club. The winger played for 10 different teams over his 16-year NHL career.
