Pederson is working his way toward returning to the lineup. The Rangers are in the middle of two tight playoff races, as they are tied for the lead in the American League West and they are in the AL Wild Card picture as well. They would love to have Pederson make an impact down the stretch. Kennedi Landry of MLB.com shared the latest injury update on Pederson ahead of the Rangers’ game on Thursday night against the Boston Red Sox.“Joc Pederson still hasn’t swung a bat, but the swelling in his left hand has gone down a ton,” Landry reports. “Today, he’s been gripping a light bat to get some strength and movement back. He said he’s ‘in a lot better spot than he was four days ago.’”Although the Rangers are dealing with a number of injury concerns, the team is right in the middle of the playoff picture in the American League. Texas, of course, won the World Series in 2023.
