Comeau, the 54th pick, reportedly received $2.5 million, which is approximately $700,000 above slot. Bumila, who was expected to go in the first round before pre-draft medicals revealed a damaged UCL, reportedly received $2.75 million, which is close to $2 million above slot.The total for the three, along with the team’s other signed draft picks, pushes them just north of $10 million in total bonus expenditures. The team’s bonus pool is $10,219,000, assuming they sign fourth rounder Hudson Calhoun and eighth rounder Kolby Branch. A team can exceed its bonus pool by up to 5% without incurring the loss of future draft picks. Players drafted after the 10th round can receive up to $150,000 as a signing bonus, with any amount above that applied towards the team’s bonus pool.
