Ranking all four backfields in the AFC West: Raiders grade out nicely

By admin — In News — July 16, 2026

The Las Vegas Raiders got a big-time season from running back Ashton Jeanty in 2025 despite the difficult circumstances around him. Heading into 2026, the Raiders have every reason to believe they’ll field a very effective rushing attack. With that in mind, we’ve ranked every backfield in the AFC West division from best to worst. The Denver Broncos probably have the deepest backfield in the division. Veteran J.K. Dobbins is back after rushing for 772 yards and four touchdowns last year. RJ Harvey added 540 yards and a team-high seven scores as a rookie. The Broncos also drafted Jonah Coleman in the fourth round. This may be a three-headed backfield in 2026, with quarterback Bo Nix also playing a role.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementJeanty produced more than 1,300 yards as a runner and receiver despite the Raiders’ offensive line doing him no favors. The arrival of Klint Kubiak at head coach (and his player-friendly system) and Tyler Linderbaum at center changes the outlook for Jeanty in 2026. An even bigger sophomore campaign is on the horizon. The Kansas City Chiefs struggled to run the football effectively in 2025. They responded by signing Super Bowl 60 MVP Kenneth Walker III to a lucrative contract in free agency. If Walker is as impactful as he was with the Seattle Seahawks, he might just fix the Chiefs’ broken rushing attack.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Los Angeles Chargers did not get enough production out of rookie running back Omarion Hampton last season. The first-round pick was limited by injury, producing just 545 yards and four touchdowns. The arrival of Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator might unlock Hampton. This article originally appeared on Raiders Wire: Ranking all four backfields in the AFC West: Raiders grade out nicely
