Kaleiya Romero earned her first professional win on the Epson Tour after securing a playoff victory over Liqi Zeng at the Island Resort Championship in Harris, Michigan. Romero forced the playoff with a birdie on the 18th hole, then closed it out with an eagle to capture the win. “To finally get a win… it was just such a sigh of relief,” she said. Her boyfriend and caddy, Ty Bauge (ironically pronounced “bogey”), admitted he was more nervous than Romero as she lined up the final moments on 18 for the second time. “I don’t know if she really expected to be doing this, but here she is doing it and I’m just so proud of her,” Bauge added.
