Now, they have a little under four hours to make any more deals to power up their roster. They got their slugging infielders in Rustchman, and Curtis Mead when he returns from his wrist fracture. Now, they need to get a depth starting pitcher or a lefty reliever. They’ve never played a full MLB season, and their arms may get tired by the playoffs.So, a guy like Holmes would be perfect. He’s a veteran All-Star, and is having a good season this year. Garrett Crochet is on the mend, and he may be back on the field by September. Then, there will really be no room for Holmes. Luckily, he’s only making $12 million this season, and has a player option for next season for $13 million, and due to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a lockout might wipe out that season. So, if Boston can get him as a rental, they should.
