Dylan Larkin has expanded his three-team no-trade list for a potential departure from the Detroit Red Wings, adding one more destination to the mix. Initially, Larkin submitted a list that included three teams, but after a lengthy period without a trade, he has broadened the pool by including an additional club. The latest team to join his list is the Dallas Stars, according to report from MLive on Thursday. The update also notes that Detroit had previously pursued Wyatt Johnston in talks, but that proposal was rejected.
The development comes as Dallas navigates its own offseason challenges, trying to balance a contract for Jason Robertson with limited apparent cap space. In Detroit, the Red Wings remain firm. Larkin holds a no-trade clause, giving him significant veto power over any proposed deal, which means Detroit can effectively pursue negotiations only with the teams on his sanctioned list.
Along with the Stars, Larkin’s list also includes the Vegas Golden Knights, the Florida Panthers, and the Minnesota Wild. While this narrowed field allows Detroit to focus its bargaining power, it also means the risk of a stalemate remains, given the limited number of potential suitors. Still, the addition of another team offers a glimmer of progress, providing the Red Wings with an additional avenue to explore a trade involving their star center.
