Report: Olise interest in Real Madrid move

By admin — In News — July 17, 2026

Speculation surrounding a possible move of Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise to Real Madrid has surged again as the World Cup nears its conclusion. France’s sports daily L’Equipe grabbed attention with a front-page photo of Olise on Friday, accompanied by the headline “In the mood for Real.” The article claimed that Olise has privately signaled his desire to join Real Madrid within the current World Cup squad and has reportedly sought information from France teammates who play for Real, Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Olise joined Bayern Munich in 2024, signing a contract that runs through 2029 without a release clause. He arrived for €55 million from Crystal Palace, and his market value has since risen to about €150 million. Bayern, showing ambition, have stated that Olise is not for sale, but the prospect of a substantial transfer fee could potentially alter that stance.
Across his Bayern career, Olise has impressed with 32 goals and 46 assists in 107 appearances. L’Equipe noted that another French Bayern player, Dayot Upamecano, is doing his utmost to persuade Olise to remain with the club. The outlet also highlighted that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is a keen admirer of Olise and suggested that the club intends to strike once the World Cup is resolved, which would be after this weekend’s fixtures.
As France prepared to face England in the third-place playoff, Real Madrid were rumored to be formulating plans to finance a potential deal. Reports suggested Real could offload players to fund Olise’s transfer, perhaps even parting with Brazil star Vinícius Júnior. Last month, Real Madrid publicly dismissed suggestions that they had direct or indirect contact with Olise or his representatives about a transfer, stating that there had not been any discussions with the player or his camp. The club underscored that any interest would be handled through official channels, given the longstanding relationship between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
With the World Cup drawing to a close, the question remains whether Real Madrid will push ahead with an ambitious bid for Olise. The French winger has become one of the most tantalizing targets in European football, and his potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu would mark a dramatic shift in the transfer landscape. Real Madrid’s rumored willingness to reorganize their squad to accommodate Olise highlights the club’s ongoing strategy to refresh their attacking options in the wake of the World Cup, while Bayern’s insistence that Olise is not for sale adds a layer of complexity to what could become one of the summer’s most closely watched transfer sagas.
