REPORT: Spurs, Dortmund in talks over Mikey Moore loan

By admin — In News — July 9, 2026

Mikey Moore enjoyed a productive loan spell in Scotland with Rangers last season, and it now appears he could be headed out again, this time to a higher level of competition. Ekrem Konur reports that talks are underway between Spurs and Borussia Dortmund that could see Moore move to the Bundesliga runners-up on loan for the current campaign. This development is genuinely intriguing, because it could shed a great deal of light on Moore’s capabilities and his potential ceiling if the move materializes.
Dortmund finished second to Bayern Munich last season, so Moore would be stepping into a strong, European-contending side. I’m not too enthusiastic about a purchase option, but Konur’s reporting suggests Spurs are trying to remove that clause from the deal. Whether that happens remains uncertain, but it would be a positive sign that Moore remains in Spurs’ long-term plans.
This would be a real test for Moore. Ideally, he would join Dortmund, earn substantial playing time, and gain valuable experience—even if he doesn’t explode onto the scene. A poor loan, where he spends most of his time on the bench or not included in first-team squads, would be disappointing but could still provide meaningful insight into his limit and development. He’s still young, and how he performs in Germany could reveal a lot about his potential trajectory.
Sending Moore to a strong club in what’s likely the third-best league in Europe makes sense. It’s preferable to a scenario where he sits on Spurs’ bench while more experienced wingers hog playing time. With Spurs not competing in Europe this season, giving our promising youngsters meaningful first-team minutes becomes even more crucial. I’m supportive of this potential move and optimistic that it could come to fruition. We’ll likely have clarity soon enough.
In the meantime, there’s a training clip circulating of Moore alongside Will “Big Willy” Lankshear, where the duo is seen absolutely hammering the ball into the net. It’s a reminder of Moore’s athleticism and goal-scoring potential, and it certainly doesn’t hurt for SEO buzz as discussions about his future continue.
