By admin — In News — July 13, 2026

Following a summer packed with action—camps, circuits, and commitments—Rivals has unveiled the latest Rivals300 rankings for the 2027 class. The update follows another thorough pass by Rivals’ Scouting and Rankings Team, who revisited prospects across a wide range of offseason events. The new release includes 28 fresh additions to the standings and a number of players who have climbed notably within the top 300. The updated list also features 23 five-star prospects, with five new faces joining the elite tier of recruits. Ultimately, Rivals projects that the class will finish with 32 five-stars, aligning with the first round of the NFL Draft.
As we begin rolling out the rankings release, here is a look at Rivals’ countdown of the 23 five-stars in the 2027 class, starting with individual player profiles and scouting notes. School: Greenwich Country Day (Conn.). Scouting Summary: An explosive athlete with a prototypical frame, this prospect brings a relentless motor off the edge, consistently displaying a high-energy burst throughout the game. He has a strong, growing frame with room to fill out at higher levels of competition. Off the court, he exhibits the athletic profile of a bouncy playmaker who can contribute on the hardwood with above-the-rim ability, and that same burst translates to on-field explosiveness when rushing the passer. He demonstrates balance and body control that allow him to win in space and display exceptional change of direction in the open field. There are technical areas to refine, including hand usage and leveraging his length more effectively as a rusher. While he possesses raw strength to shed blocks in the running game, there are moments where pad level lags. He is among the more gifted physical and athletic specimens at his position, but continued development of technique as a rusher and more precise hand placement at the point of attack will be crucial. If he continues to polish his technique and expand his pass-rush arsenal, he has the potential to become a premier three-down defender. Notably, he is among the older prospects in the 2027 cycle.
School: Hampton (Ga.). Scouting Summary: A physically imposing, versatile safety prospect who plays with violent consistency in the run game and displays exceptional range as a middle-field rover. He has been verified at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds with impressive length. A two-way contributor who doubles as a wide receiver for his high school program, he demonstrates strong movement skills on tape, across both sides of the ball, and on the camp circuit. His long speed allows him to cover sideline to sideline as a center fielder or to close on ball carriers downhill in the alley. He shows an excellent trigger when moving downhill and plays with a willingness to strike, projecting as a sure tackler who can thrive in the box. His versatility stands out, as he can play man coverage in the slot or outside, and he has the physical tools to influence plays in multiple ways. To reach his ceiling, continued development of hip flexibility and fluidity will be essential for reliability in underneath and intermediate coverage. He possesses the potential to step in as a heavy nickel early at the next level and has the upside to develop into a true three-dimensional defensive back who can handle man, zone, and run support obligations.
