He added that the board and the president now have the opportunity to appoint a new manager, and that his contract ends today.
Martínez, who previously managed Belgium, noted that while his future had been undecided before the tournament, he now believes his time with Portugal has ended. He called it his last game for the national team and said he was very proud to have felt welcomed as part of the Portuguese community, describing the experience as a source of pride and responsibility.
