VfL Wolfsburg’s Saël Kumbedi (21) is not expected to stay with the Wolves, according to Foot Mercato. After a notable season despite his side’s relegation to the second division, the French full-back is drawing interest. In Italy, Lazio and Roma are reportedly monitoring the former Lyon player’s situation closely. FC Porto, Feyenoord, and an as-yet-unidentified Ligue 1 club are also said to be vying for him. Under contract with VfL until 2029, the rising market value suggests he may depart if a satisfactory offer arrives. After making 24 Bundesliga appearances and providing five assists in his first German season, he might not remain in Germany for long. A product of Le Havre’s academy, the Saint‑Étienne-born defender joined Olympique Lyonnais in summer 2022, where he was regarded as a promising talent. He made 62 appearances for Les Gones before moving to Wolfsburg on loan last summer, then signing a permanent deal for around €9 million a few months later.
