Former Rutland girls basketball guard Anna Moser announced her commitment to the University of Florida women’s basketball program on her Instagram and X accounts on Tuesday, July 7. Moser is slated to graduate from Hoosac School in New York in 2027, following her transfer there before the 2024-2025 girls basketball season. She played a pivotal role in helping Hoosac AAA Girls Basketball capture the 2026 NEPSAC Championship, defeating several of New England’s top prep schools along the way. The New England Basketball Journal recognized Moser as the NEPSAC AAA Girls Player of the Year after she averaged 18 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
During her two-year tenure with Rutland, Moser earned a slate of honors, including being named Vermont’s 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year, an award she earned after posting averages of 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.1 assists per game. She also earned first-team recognition on the Burlington Free Press 2024 all-state team and was named the Vermont Basketball Coaches’ Association co-player of the year. Her list of achievements extended beyond these honors, as she attracted interest from several high-profile programs.
Moser drew attention from multiple Power 4 programs, including schools such as Indiana, Virginia, Arizona, and Mississippi State, in addition to her eventual commitment to the Florida Gators. Her decision marks a significant milestone for a player who has consistently demonstrated leadership, versatility, and a competitive edge on the court. The path from Rutland to the national stage illustrates her development as a player and her rising profile in New England and beyond.
