With Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn now officially set to fight on September 12 in Las Vegas, live on Paramount+, the trash talk is kicking back up between the two.“You talk too much,” Benn said. “I’m gonna smash your head in.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“I told you in person you aren’t a good enough fighter to beat me,” Garcia replied. “You forced yourself in this position, I will show the lesson of rushing into something you just aren’t ready for.”Now, truthfully, I don’t think most anyone would say that the 29-year-old Benn, with 26 pro fights under his belt, is “rushing into” anything. If he’s going to fight at this level, it’s time to do so. Whether he succeeds is another story, of course. But he’s as ready as he’s getting. But the score between these two will be settled in September.Garcia (25-2, 20 KO) will defend the WBC welterweight title in the fight. Benn (25-1, 14 KO) will be fighting as a welterweight for the first time in four years.
