Borussia Dortmund and Germany attacker Karim Adeyemi, 24, is set to join Barcelona in a deal reportedly worth 31 million euros (£26 million).
Arsenal and Liverpool are locked in a transfer tussle for Lutsharel Geertruida, a 25-year-old defender from RB Leipzig who spent last season on loan at Sunderland. Manchester City and Tottenham are both eyeing Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao, 26, and could derail his 50 million euro (£42.6 million) move to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli from Sporting.
Barcelona are preparing to intensify their pursuit of Atletico Madrid and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez, 26, with a bid around 130 million euros (£110 million) after the World Cup. Hull City have submitted a bid for Mjallby midfielder Elliot Stroud, 24, who starred for Sweden at the World Cup.

Como are hoping to sign Colombia defender Davison Sanchez, 30, but Galatasaray’s asking price of around 30 million euros (£25.6 million) could deter the deal. United are also seeking a goalkeeper to challenge Senne Lammens, 24, and could look at Paraguay’s Orlando Gill, 26, who has a reported £5.2 million release clause at San Lorenzo in Argentina.
Newcastle United have been boosted in their pursuit of England goalkeeper James Trafford, 23, from Manchester City, with Aston Villa showing interest in keeping their number one, the 33-year-old Argentine Emiliano Martinez, as competition. Chelsea remain in the mix as another potential suitor. In Portugal, Benfica’s new coach Marco Silva aims to bring back Joao Palhinha, 31, to the club, with a 25 million euro (£21.3 million) bid already being prepared to prise the Portugal international away from Bayern Munich after his loan spell at Tottenham last season.
