Seattle Seahawks guard Grey Zabel competes against a lot of tough defensive opponents in practice as well as when he lines up against NFC West foes. But when it comes to the one that gives him the most trouble, the second-year lineman didn’t hold back on which Rams player makes his life miserable on in the trenches.”Kobie Turner’s like my kryptonite right now,” Zabel said on an episode of Green Light with Chris Long. “I don’t know what it is, he’s just got my number. He works me every single game.”Zabel, who faced Turner three times in 2025, praised the Rams’ defensive front for its competitiveness and character despite the divisional rivalry.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”As much as you want to hate the Rams, they’re all really good dudes,” Zabel said. “And Kobie, for instance — he’s out there and he just smiles. He plays the game for the love of the game, no question about it.”Zabel added that after the NFC Championship game, he made sure to let Turner know how much he enjoyed competing against him this past season.”It was a sad deal because he got a little banged up and couldn’t finish that NFC Championship game,” Zabel said. “So the moment after the game was done, I just went and talked to him about how awesome he was and what a great game he had, and how fun it is to compete against him.”Across three meetings, Turner had relative success against the Seahawks. He logged six combined tackles, 1.5 sacks in a single outing, four total quarterback hits, an interception and two passes defensed. Turner’s production against Seattle was part of a broader breakout stretch to close his third NFL season. He finished 2025 with 48 tackles, 24 solo, seven sacks and three passes defensed, including the interception, across 17 games.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement”He’s just an unbelievable guy,” Zabel said. “I mean, if anybody watching knows Kobie, they know exactly what I’m talking about, because he’s top tier. He’s what makes the game fun to play against defensive linemen.”If the Rams decide to extend Turner past the 2026 season, it’s more than likely he and Zabel will do battle against one another for a long time in one of the biggest rivalries in the NFC.This article originally appeared on Rams Wire: Seahawks’ Grey Zabel calls this Rams star his ‘kryptonite’
