It was a productive season for Section 1, which captured 18 state team championships during the 2025-26 school year. Here are the programs that celebrated NYSPHSAA and Section 1 titles. Mamaroneck and Rye may need to add trophy cases to accommodate the impressive haul of hardware.

Fall season highlights featured Rye in Class A football, Bronxville in Class C football, North Salem in Class C girls soccer, Albertus Magnus in Class AA girls basketball, Rye in Class A girls basketball, North Rockland in Class A boys cross country, John Jay-Cross River in Class B girls cross country, and Bronxville in Class D boys cross country. In boys soccer, John Jay-East Fishkill and New Rochelle earned Class AAA honors. The state-run fields also recognized Rye in Class A as well as North Salem in Class C for boys soccer, with Mamaroneck topping the Class AA football standings.
Winter brought more glory, with Albertus Magnus winning Class AAA girls basketball, Tappan Zee in Class A boys basketball, Yonkers Montessori Academy in Class B girls basketball, and Suffern in Division I ice hockey. Division II ice hockey crowned Byram Hills as a champion, while Tuckahoe stood out in Class D competitive cheer.
The spring season added to the trophy tally with Rye in boys lacrosse Class C, Yorktown in Class B flag football, and Scarsdale in Division I boys tennis with Byram Hills taking Division II. North Rockland defeated Arlington 2-1 in overtime to win the Section 1 Class AAA girls soccer final at Nyack High School on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Fall recap also highlighted Mamaroneck as Class AA football champion, Rye as Class A football champion, Sleepy Hollow as Class B football champion, Bronxville as Class C football champion, and Tuckahoe as Class D football champion. In boys soccer, John Jay-East Fishkill and New Rochelle earned Class AAA honors; Harrison claimed Class AA, Rye took Class A, Albertus Magnus earned Class B, and North Salem earned Class C. In girls soccer, North Rockland claimed Class AAA, Albertus Magnus Class AA, Rye Class A, Blind Brook Class B, and Tuckahoe Class C. Field hockey crowned Mamaroneck in Class A, Greeley in Class B, and Bronxville in Class C. Girls volleyball saw North Rockland in Class AAA, Yorktown in Class AA, Rye in Class A, and Putnam Valley in Class B, with North Salem in Class C. For boys volleyball, Division I acknowledged Clarkstown South and Division II Yorktown. In cross country, North Rockland led the boys, with Hen Hud, Irvington, and Haldane also earning distinctions, and John Jay-Cross River, Bronxville, Keio as notable teams in girls cross country. In girls tennis, Greeley topped Division I and Edgemont led Division II, while Ursuline claimed the girls swimming title.
The winter season also featured notable events in boys and girls ice hockey, with Suffern and Byram Hills leading Division I and II respectively, and the East Green Wave achieving a distinguished run in girls ice hockey. Wrestling titles went to Yorktown in Division I and Pearl River in Division II, with Putnam Valley making its mark in girls wrestling. In indoor track and field, North Rockland led Class AA for girls and boys, while Suffern captured Class A in boys indoor track and Nanuet led Class B, Bronxville in Class C; North Rockland led Class AA in girls indoor track, and various divisions recognized depth across Sections 1.
These results reflect a season of depth and breadth across multiple sports, with Section 1 schools continuing to build on a tradition of excellence. From football to girls basketball, cross country to tennis, and beyond, the 2025-26 cycle showcased the resilience, teamwork, and competitive spirit that drive NYSPHSAA programs to reach, and often exceed, their goals.
