They decided to hold on to the league’s future.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Fleet recently re-signed defender Haley Winn, the 2026 PWHL Rookie of the Year, to a one-year contract extension through the 2028-29 PWHL season.The signing served as a perfect birthday gift for Winn, who celebrated her 23rd birthday the exact same day. The extension adds a year of security to her original three-year standard player agreement signed prior to her rookie season.Winn was selected second overall by the Fleet in the 2025 PWHL Draft, putting up a stellar 19 points in 30 regular-season games, putting her in a tie for third in points among league defenders. More impressively, she established herself as an absolute workhorse, setting a new PWHL single-season record by averaging a league-high 26:45 of ice time per game. The league is expanding, with the additions of teams in Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose. With a lot of people that mean a lot to me.”
