It’s off to regionals for Chaires-Capitola Little League! For the first time ever, the boys from Tallahassee are representing Florida in the Little League World Series.At least, they will as long as they can navigate the eight-team Southeast regional to qualify for a place in Williamsport. The double-elimination tournament begins Thursday, Aug. 6, with the region’s champion decided Aug. 11.Chaires already has a major win on its résumé, beating 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary 6-0 to win the Florida title. “The Green Machine” won all four games in the state tournament by a combined score of 19-4. The team of 10- to 12-year-olds, many of whom played on the 9-11 team that won the national Tournament of State Champions in 2025, open against the team from Georgia before a potential powerhouse awaits.
