Five players from Ohio’s MLB teams will participate in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game on July 14, including a Columbus Clippers graduate making his major league debut this season. The Guardians typically have representation in the midsummer classic, most notably third baseman Jose Ramirez, but the seven-time All-Star will be out of this year’s game after fracturing the hamate bone in his left hand on June 13. Nevertheless, the Guardians head to Philadelphia with two pitchers and one infielder selected to participate.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati Reds star shortstop Elly De La Cruz did not receive an All-Star nod after missing much of June due to a hamstring strain. Here is what to know about the upcoming MLB All-Star Game: The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for 8 p.m. on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Date: July 14
Time: 8 p.m. ET

Columbus Clippers product Travis Bazzana watched the ball during practice at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio, on March 25, 2026. Promoted from the Clippers this season, Bazzana made his major league debut on April 28. The former first overall draft pick has become the Guardians’ leadoff hitter and starting second baseman just over 60 games into his MLB career.
Guardians’ breakout starting pitcher Parker Messick has emerged as a top contributor this season, beginning his second year with a 1.73 ERA over his first six starts and anchoring the early portion of Cleveland’s rotation. In Cleveland, Cade Smith has also delivered strong performances; elevated to the closer role last season, he has become one of MLB’s premier save-getters this year and ranks highly in strikeout rate, sitting in the 98th percentile according to Baseball Savant.
On the Cincinnati side, Reds starter Chase Burns has established himself as the club’s ace this season, recording more than 100 strikeouts with an ERA around 2.40 through 17 starts and continuing to solidify his status in the rotation. At the plate, Reds first baseman Sal Stewart has produced strong rookie totals; after 90 games in 2026, he has hit his 17th home run as of July 2, placing him among the league’s top rookie power producers.
