After establishing Lowell as their initial home, the Boston Fleet will officially relocate to the Boston area for the 2026-27 season.
In a recent press release, the team announced that Fleet games during the 2026-27 season will be hosted at Agganis Arena in Boston, marking a move away from the Tsongas Center. Agganis Arena, which is home to the Boston University Terriers, can accommodate up to 6,150 spectators for hockey events, with a maximum capacity of 8,000 seats overall. By comparison, the Tsongas Center has a capacity of 10,003 fans, with 6,500 seats designated for hockey.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring the Boston Fleet to Agganis Arena full-time,” said Laura Marie Davey, Boston Fleet Director of Business Operations, in the release. “The passion for the Fleet in the City of Boston has continued to grow since our first game at Agganis, and this move allows us to build on that momentum while creating new opportunities to connect with supporters throughout Greater Boston, the South Shore, and Rhode Island.”

They initially played at the Tsongas Center from 2024 to 2026 and recently reached the semifinals of the PWHL Finals, where they were edged by the Ottawa Charge. The Fleet developed a dedicated fanbase in the Lowell area, but attendance challenges emerged due to commuter issues during weekday games at the Tsongas Center, as reported by Boston.com. The team averaged 4,938 fans per game at the Tsongas Center, with attendance creeping up to 5,238 in several games held at Agganis Arena.
“We’re deeply grateful to the Lowell community and our partners at the Tsongas Center, whose support has been instrumental to the growth of our organization. We look forward to carrying that support with us as we begin this next chapter,” Davey stated.
As a note on home ice, Boston holds a 3-0-1-2 record at Agganis Arena. At this time, the PWHL has not yet released the schedule for the upcoming season. The Fleet’s move to Agganis Arena signals an intent to capitalize on stronger local interest and improved accessibility for fans across Greater Boston, the South Shore, and neighboring Rhode Island.
