Former Shore basketball standout Justine Pissott has signed with the Las Vegas Aces after spending the majority of the season with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on a WNBA development contract. She inked a standard contract offer with the Aces, officially placing her on the team’s 12-player roster. The 6-foot-4 wing was selected in the second round by the Fever and joined them on a provisional deal; under WNBA rules, other teams can offer development players a standard roster spot, which is what the Aces did.
The Fever chose not to counter with an offer to retain Pissott. To clear a spot for her arrival, Las Vegas waived guard Chennedy Carter. The Aces are the reigning 2026 WNBA champions, led by future Hall of Famer A’ja Wilson. Just days earlier, the Fever had defeated the Aces 84-68 in a game in which Clark and Wilson did not participate. Throughout her time with Indiana, Pissott never appeared in an active role during the regular season, largely due to injuries.
Pissott’s basketball journey began at Red Bank Catholic under coach Joe Montano, where she earned McDonald’s All-American honors in her senior year. She then played one season at Tennessee before transferring to Vanderbilt, where she spent three seasons with the Commodores. In her most recent college season, she posted a career-high average of 11.1 points per game as a 6-foot-4 wing, helping Vanderbilt achieve a nationally ranked status.
This report originally appeared in Asbury Park Press, highlighting Pissott’s progression from a Shore-area star to a contract with the WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces, signaling a new chapter in her professional career.
