(Photo by EyesWideOpen/Getty Images) | Getty Images Jamal Musiala has now been forced off in two consecutive preseason matches, and the circumstances surrounding both incidents have understandably raised serious questions. After collapsing during Bayern Munich’s friendly against RB Leipzig on Saturday, Musiala experienced another episode just minutes after coming on against Heidenheim on Tuesday. The second incident was particularly concerning because there was no obvious challenge involved, with Musiala appearing disoriented before receiving medical attention and leaving the pitch.Musiala has since revealed that he has been diagnosed with brief, temporary absence episodes caused by a neurological dysfunction. He has emphasized that the condition is easily treatable, that he is receiving excellent medical care, and that neurological specialists have been closely involved in his recovery. He has also said that there is no additional health risks and that he remains optimistic. That reassurance is important, but the bigger question for Bayern Munich should be whether Musiala needs to be playing competitive football at this moment at all. This is not about questioning Musiala’s desire to return. He clearly wants to play. It is about making sure one of Bayern Munich’s most important players is completely ready before he takes another step onto the pitch, and that the other players on the pitch could not be adversely affected. With the season about to begin, should Bayern Munich take every possible precaution and keep Musiala out until the medical experts are completely satisfied that he is ready? What do you think? Should Musiala be playing for Bayern Munich right now?Join the conversation!Sign up for a user account and get:New, improved notifications system!Fewer adsCreate community postsComment on articles, community postsRec comments, community posts
