Sophie Cunningham Adidas PE set to release this month

Adidas and WNBA star Sophie Cunningham, the Indiana Fever guard, are pairing up on a fresh sneaker drop set to hit the market this month. The Adidas Crazy Energy “Sophie Cunningham” PE colorway is slated for release on July 24, with a price tag of $120, according to multiple reports. Cunningham herself confirmed the news by sharing one of those reports on her Instagram story Friday. The upcoming shoe features a predominantly pink and white color scheme.
Partnering with Cunningham is a strategic move for Adidas, given her growing prominence and massive online following. Since last year, she has been a rising figure in the sport, and the new sneaker is expected to perform well commercially as a result.
Cunningham’s star rose dramatically in 2025 after she defended Fever teammate Caitlin Clark by delivering a hard foul to a Connecticut Sun player amid a flurry of cheap shots aimed at Clark in the same game. The moment resonated with Clark’s enormous fan base, helping Cunningham gain millions of followers and become a fan favorite. She has even been playfully dubbed Clark’s bodyguard by fans and commentators alike.
Beyond that moment, Cunningham has not shied away from speaking out about how Clark has been treated within the WNBA and by the league, criticizing what many perceived as insufficient protection for one of the league’s biggest stars. Her outspoken stance has only amplified her visibility among Clark’s supporters. The ongoing concerns about Clark’s treatment resurfaced when Clark again faced a cheap shot from Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, drawing further attention to Cunningham’s advocacy.
Cunningham’s ability to go viral has continued to shine. Most recently, she sparked internet chatter after a confrontation with Mercury guard DeWanna Bonner last month, culminating in a viral moment in which Cunningham pointed at Bonner for more than 20 seconds.
The Missouri product re-signed with the Fever on a one-year deal in the offseason. Although she expressed gratitude for remaining with Indiana, she noted that the contract terms were not ideal, explaining that her primary focus was securing a multi-year commitment from the team. “I am so grateful. I know I’m coming off a pretty big knee injury, and so it was never about the money. It was just about the years, because I wanted to be with them,” she said.
Yet, Cunningham has continued to perform at a high level. The sharpshooter is currently averaging 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 22.7 minutes per game off the bench, while shooting 40% from three-point range. As the Fever prepare for their upcoming schedule, Cunningham’s form remains a bright spot for Indiana.
Heading into Sunday’s showdown against the Las Vegas Aces, Indiana holds a 13-9 record and sits in the No. 7 spot for the playoffs. The release of the Adidas Crazy Energy “Sophie Cunningham” PE could further amplify Cunningham’s brand and bring additional attention to her play as she continues to help lead the Fever.
