The Spurs are responding to a recent report that ranked the Silver and Black squad among the 10 NBA teams with the highest cost for a family of four to attend.Fantasy sports news and betting tool RotoWire says it recorded ticket prices from each team’s cheapest available single seat on SeatGeek as of September 30, including SeatGeek fees but not sales tax. It multiplied the price by four and averaged it across each team’s first 25 regular-season home games and NBA Cup group games. The ranking also used the cheapest pre-purchased parking pass on SeatGeek for each home game and averaged it across the 13 to 18 home games with passes on sale. Using Bookies.com’s NBA cost-to-attend data, RotoWire added the cost of two 16-ounce beers, two 20-ounce sodas, and four hot dogs.Spurs ranked No. 8 on the list, with ticket prices reportedly taking up more than half of the total cost to attend. According to RotoWire, a family of four can get in the door for at least $269.44 on average, and they can expect to spend $38.69 on parking, $25 on two beers, $18.70 for two sodas and about $50 more if everyone wants a hot dog. Interestingly, the Frost Bank Center’s hot dog total was the most expensive across NBA arenas, the only category in which the Spurs had the highest prices. In total, a night at the Frost Bank Center could run that family $401.95, according to RotoWire. That’s slightly over the league average of $343.18 total. If that sounds expensive, be thankful you aren’t a Knicks fan – they have the most expensive games in the league at $1,276.60 for a family of four. That’s more than twice the total of the second-most expensive games to attend ($566.77 for a family of four to see the Lakers in Los Angeles). Meanwhile, life is good (kind of) for New Orleans Pelicans fans, who can expect to pay only $167.97 for a family of four to attend a game.Spurs share tips for saving money while attending games in San AntonioA spokesperson for Spurs Sports & Entertainment said the Spurs “are one of the most affordably priced teams in the NBA.” The spokesperson added that every season, the Spurs make “thousands of tickets available for $25 or less and that commitment isn’t changing.””We provide free community tickets through schools, nonprofits and neighborhood partners so free and low-cost access reaches the right people.
