He has been through it all in the NFL, and calling out a teammate has become par for the course for him, especially as a leader.Some have misconstrued Rodgers’ frankness as arrogance, but to him, holding someone accountable, including himself, should come with honesty.On Wednesday, he called out Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson for causing an interception in practice.Watch sports LIVE with fuboTV (free trial)“Roman (Wilson) made a repeat mistake. That’s a good learning experience because I don’t think he’s going to do that again. But he did the same thing early in training camp,” said the 42-year-old signal-caller in the video posted by The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov.“I think it’s best that it happened in training camp. Roman is a great kid. He’s had a fantastic camp. I have the utmost confidence in him. He’s gonna play a big role for us. But mistakes can happen. Last season, Rodgers, in his maiden season with the Steelers, targeted the 25-year-old Wilson 21 times. He recorded 12 receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown.Wilson, who looks up to ex-NFL star Antonio Brown, was drafted by the Steelers in the third round in 2024.Rodgers, a four-time MVP, acknowledged that Wilson has “gotten a lot better.” His blunt comment should only help improve the young pass-catcher.
