Steelers vs Bills: 4 big storylines for the team’s final preseason game

By admin — In News — August 25, 2026

This Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up the preseason on the road against the Buffalo Bills. This game will be huge for new head coach Mike McCarthy as the team has multiple positional units with position battles ongoing and several guys on the roster bubble. Here are the four big storylines for this week.Drew Allar to get the start? We expect it to be all Drew Allar and all Will Howard again this week and we hope the two flip so Allar can get the start. The Bills are playing some of their starters and we want to see Allar go against their best defenders and he tries to secure a roster spot.Offensive line is running out of timePittsburgh is still scrambling to figure out the best combination on the right side with no player at either guard or tackle setting themselves apart. This is where the rookies come in and we hope to see plenty of Gennings Dunker and Max Iheanachor.Germie Bernard vs Roman Wilson one more timeIt’s the last shot for Roman Wilson to get retribution after two awful plays last week that turned into Will Howard interceptions. Even McCarthy called it out to a degree and this week is a perfect chance for Germie Bernard to win the No. 3 receiver spot.Special teams can keep getting better?Last week was better than Week One but still not great for special teams. We are hopeful this week we see something much closer to a finished product on special teams and we can go into the season with confidence that this group won’t be a liability. This article originally appeared on Steelers Wire: Steelers vs Bills: 4 big storylines for the team’s final preseason game
