It is with heavy hearts that we report that racer Mauro Poncini, 29, has died, following an incident during qualifying for the 2026 Manx Grand Prix. The Swiss rider is survived by his parents Florio and Manuela, sister Marzia, and girlfriend Sharon.The Caslano, Switzerland, resident was an established road racer, though this year marked his debut at the Isle of Man’s Mountain Course.Poncini and another competitor were involved in the incident during the opening lap of the second qualifying session.
