One of the big winners coming out of Denver Broncos training camp seems to be second-year wide receiver Pat Bryant. The 2025 third-round pick out of Illinois impressed in the second half of his rookie season, and he might now be poised to serve as the unofficial WR3 behind Courtland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle this fall. Bryant has been praised by coaches and teammates all summer, with safety Talanoa Hufanga being the latest to join in.“I would say Pat Bryant,” Hufanga said after Monday’s practice when asked who was the most improved player on offense this summer. “Pat Bryant is a guy that came in — believe it or not, was a guy who was more of a role player last year and doing what he was asked. He was still learning Sean [Payton]’s scheme at the time. But watching his leap — because you kind of could see it as the season went last year and getting late into the year. What he’s done this camp, he’s really solidifying himself and making a name for himself in this league.”Denver’s “unofficial” depth chart lists Marvin Mims as a third starting receiver alongside Sutton and Waddle, but the Broncos did not keep any of their rookie return options on the active roster. So it’s looking like Mims, a record-breaking All-Pro returner, will continue to have a key role on special teams this fall. That could create an opportunity for Bryant to emerge as WR3, and his teammates certainly seem to think he’s up to the task.
