Taylor Makar Signs Two-Year Contract to Remain with Colorado Avalanche

Makar, 25, came off his first full professional season this past year. He played 12 games with the Avs and 52 with the American Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles. Makar registered 14 goals, 10 assists, and 24 points with the Eagles in the regular season and another two goals and four assists in the playoffs.His new deal will pay him $875,000 against the cap. The first season will be a two-way contract, while the second is a one-way. Listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, the forward signed his entry-level contract on March 25, 2025, and made his professional debut later that season with the Eagles (April 5). He netted his first career goal as a professional on April 19 and dressed in one playoff game in 2024-25.Makar was drafted in the seventh round, 220th overall, in 2021.
