Outfielder Andrew Duncan, who moved to Tennessee baseball from Wright State during the recent offseason, was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 2026 MLB Draft, securing the No. 558 overall pick. Duncan committed to the Volunteers on June 26 and could emerge as the team’s starting center fielder once he arrives on campus. During the 2026 season at Wright State, he posted a .367 batting average with six home runs, six triples, 36 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases.
Earlier in his career, Duncan began at Florida State after being selected by the Houston Astros in the 19th round of the 2023 MLB Draft. His freshman year saw limited playing time, prompting a transfer to Tallahassee State College, a junior college, where he thrived with a .379 batting average, three home runs, and 20 RBIs over 32 games.
