After his walk-off double to beat the Cardinals on Thursday, Hernandez admitted that he spoke with manager Dave Roberts about his willingness to sit on the bench if someone else presents a better chance to win a game. All of a sudden, things look totally different. He is 8-for-16 in his last four games, dating back to the last game in August, and his approach is tight once again. He’s not cheating to a fastball. The swing decisions are way better. And those are things, for me, that you can bet on going forward,” Roberts said.
