​The Houston Texans could be without third-string quarterback Graham Mertz for the rest of the evening.Mertz, who took over on the second drive in Houston’s first preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers, left seconds before halftime with an apparent knee injury. He did not return for the start of the third quarter, leading to Davis Mills comng back for what appeared to be the rest of the game. Mertz, a former Day 3 pick out of Florida, dealt with a leg injury during his senior season in Gainseville. He spent most of last season on the injured list, though the Texans knew he would be playing hurt before selecting him. While C.J. Stroud and Mills are both expected to make the roster, neither is expected to play much in the preseason given their value. Mills started the game 4-of-6 passing for 49 yards and a touchdown. Mertz was 4-of-7 for 23 yards, with his longest pass attempt going for 6 yards. The Texans currently trail 10-7 at the half.
