​Undrafted free agents have to be pretty special to catch the attention of Pro Bowl veterans on the Houston Texans’ defense.Keep in mind, Houston, which featured the No. 1 unit a season ago, has two All-Pros, four Pro Bowlers and a slew of names who easily could earn accolades any given year. But through one week of training camp, Collin Wright has been the talk of snaps among the defensive backs. When asked who was flying under the radar for Houston’s defense, Pro Bowler Kamari Lassiter wasted little time talking about the “super talented” Stanford product.”He’s a really good player. He comes in every day,” Lassiter said. “He’s really quiet, so you don’t really hear about him a lot. He’s out there making plays day in, day out. His 6-foot frame looks massive in person, and his physical play against wide receivers in an underwhelming program was well documented during his tenure in Palo Alto.Over the past two seasons, Wright collected pass breakups and four interceptions. He was also viewed as a reliable tackler in space, only missing on 7.2 percent of plays. “He finds a way to get his hands on the ball in some type of fashion,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Whether he’s picking the ball, whether he’s playing sticky coverage and attacking the ball, getting PBUs, he’s done a really great job.”Quiet off the field, Wright has been booming on it. Every day during 1-on-1 drills, he’s at least broken up one pass. The same goes for 7-on-7, where during Wednesday’s practice he nearly recorded his first interception. As an undrafted free agent, Wright remains at the bottom of the depth chart. Ja’Marcus Ingram, Tremon Smith, Jaylin Smith and Brandon Covington all are ahead of the Missouri City product on the depth chart entering the first preseason game.
