The winger celebrated the moment as if he had just scored the winner in the World Cup final. This was viewed as Scotland’s decisive moment, after all. The genuine, fiery outburst electrified the Tartan Army scattered across the Boston Stadium stands – many of whom were understandably growing anxious at how their tournament opener against Haiti was unfolding. But he understood. The “little guy” understood it. He understood its significance to the many Scottish travelers in Massachusetts.
