England and Norway are poised to meet in a World Cup quarter-final at Miami Stadium this Saturday, with kickoff at 6pm local time. The winner will advance to face Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-finals later in the week. England are widely seen as the favorites on paper, but Norway could threaten an upset thanks to the influence of Erling Haaland, aiming to reach the tournament’s last four for the first time in their history.
Ahead of the match, fans should note a sizeable list of items that Hard Rock Stadium (renamed Miami Stadium for the duration of the World Cup) prohibits inside. According to The Palm Beach Post, the venue restricts entry to a broad range of items, including umbrellas, strollers, and any noise-making devices such as air horns, bells, bullhorns, thundersticks, and whistles.
Additionally, large personal belongings are banned. Briefcases, bags, luggage, purses larger than a clutch, or non-clear bags are not permitted. The stadium’s policy also forbids weapons of any kind, as well as flammable or projectile items such as fireworks, road flares, emergency flares, explosives, or any other incendiary devices. Aerosol containers, including sunscreen, pepper spray, bug spray, or spray paint, are also prohibited, along with balloons, frisbees, projectiles, and various noise-makers like radios, bells, whistles, musical instruments, laser pointers, sticks, poles, bats, and clubs. Items deemed a safety hazard or annoyance to participants or guests, including certain consumables, are also restricted.
Outside alcohol, outside food or beverages, illegal substances, and glass or metal containers of any kind are not allowed. The distribution of unauthorized promotional or commercial material, including flyers, samples, giveaways, or promotional items, is prohibited as well. Banners or poles and signs larger than 11×17 inches or A3 paper are not allowed, and political signage is likewise restricted. Electronics such as laptops, tablets, digital readers, or iPads, and drones are prohibited.
In addition to these restrictions, fans are advised not to bring bags that are too large. Visitors may carry only one clear bag and one clutch-sized bag. The clear bag must not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches, while small clutch bags or purses must not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Security checks may include X-ray screening and hand searches of bags.
The stadium gates open three hours before kick-off, at 3pm local time, allowing fans ample time to enter as security checks are conducted. As the World Cup schedule unfolds, the game promises to be a tense affair, with England seeking to extend their run in the tournament and Norway hoping to pull off another surprise in their bid to reach the semi-finals.
