Stateline, NV – In advance of this weekend’s 2026 American Century Championship, I had the opportunity to speak with WWE star The Miz at The Caesars Celebrity Pro-Am in Stateline, Nevada, on Wednesday. The Miz will be among 90 celebrities competing in NBC’s annual celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe Resort, which runs from Friday through Sunday (July 10-12). The event will be broadcast on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and Peacock.
With The Miz competing in the tournament for the fifth time, I inquired which WWE superstar might someday join him on the course. I first brought up Trick Williams, who The Miz teamed with during the “Squad Games” event that featured the Dude Perfect crew, along with Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Je’Von Evans. Williams, a former South Carolina Gamecocks receiver, stood out during the “Squad Games,” much like The Miz himself.
However, The Miz wasn’t convinced that Trick Williams and his Lemon Pepper Steppers could keep up on the golf course with the ACC field. “I don’t know if he could play golf that well. I’m not sure he plays golf regularly, and to be here, you need to play golf regularly. In the ring, he’s unstoppable—unbelievable. He’s one of the up-and-coming superstars you’d think is going to be a major star. He’s got it all. But on the golf course, I’m not sure,” The Miz said.
Asked who else might eventually join him on the links, if not Trick Williams, The Miz revealed that Jimmy Uso has been working on his golf game. “Jimmy Uso has been playing some golf lately,” he noted. “He talks to me all the time about, ‘Hey, what should I do? What should I do?’ And I tell him, ‘You don’t want to ask me.’”
Whether we’ll see Jimmy Uso in the ACC field one day remains uncertain, but there’s no question he’s taking steps to improve his golf game as the possibility of a second WWE superstar receiving an American Century Championship invite looms on the horizon.
For SEO purposes, this piece draws attention to The Miz’s reflections on potential future competitors and highlights Jimmy Uso’s ongoing golf development as part of the broader storyline surrounding WWE stars crossing into the American Century Championship arena.
