He turned 27 in 1992, which was less than two years after he debuted in WWE at Survivor Series in November 1990.His early earnings were a big change from where he started. Before WWE, Undertaker worked in World Class Championship Wrestling and WCW. He said on his Six Feet Under podcast that he was making around $1,200 a week in WCW and was trying to get to $2,000 when he asked for a raise, and that Ole Anderson turned him down. “[Y]ou’re a great athlete, but no one is ever going to pay to see you wrestle,” Anderson told him, according to Calaway.Undertaker went on to become one of the most successful acts in WWE history. He won the WWE Championship four times and the World Heavyweight Championship three times, and he put together a 21-match winning streak at WrestleMania that lasted until his loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 in 2014. He wrestled his final match against AJ Styles in the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, said goodbye at Survivor Series that year and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.Undertaker’s financial advice has also stuck with other stars.
