Unrivaled continues to add top talent and stay connected with fans through major events set for Chicago and Portland in July. Before we dive into those opportunities, here’s a breakdown of the players who are now part of Unrivaled. And in the comments, tell us who you’re most eager to watch in 2027 and which clubs you hope these Unrivaled newcomers join.
Gabby Williams, a WNBA All-Star starter and French star, has signed a multi-year deal with Unrivaled. The Golden State Valkyries forward shared her excitement about joining the league for 2027 and beyond: “I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be playing in Unrivaled next season. The chance to compete alongside some of the best players in the world, continue developing my game, and be part of something that’s advancing women’s basketball is truly special. I can’t wait to get started. See you soon, Unrivaled!” Williams is a standout this season, averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, with a career-best 35.2 percent from three. Her addition injects even more star power into Unrivaled.
Bridget Carleton, a seasoned pro with stints in the WNBA, overseas, and with the Canadian national team, will bring Unrivaled into her calendar in 2027. She said, “I am so excited to be playing in Unrivaled next season. It’s a special opportunity for me to stay close to home while continuing to grow my game and compete against some of the world’s best players.” Carleton is quickly becoming a fan favorite for the Portland Fire expansion, averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
Kayla Thornton, like Williams, has signed a multi-year deal with Unrivaled. Thornton has a résumé that includes a title run and a Commissioner’s Cup banner with the New York Liberty, followed by an All-Star season in Golden State. Now she’s in Unrivaled. “Kayla Thornton is Unrivaled,” announced the league, with the message presented by Ally. In her second season with the Valkyries, she’s averaging 8.5 points per game while shooting 34 percent from three. Her improved shooting, combined with her defensive toughness, should help her thrive in 3×3.
Marine Johannès is an electrifying talent who can overwhelm defenses when she finds her rhythm. (Note: the text ends here, with a teaser about her impact.)
